Happy Fathers Day
Today is Father's Day. This is a day that is bittersweet for me. You see I never knew my father, and later in life when we had some sporadic contact those phone calls did not go well. I was fortunate to have a Dad in my teenage years. While he was not biologically related to me, he always treated me as his own. Even though he and my mother separated not long after, he has stayed in my life and we are still family.
On this Father's Day, let's also honor those Dads who are there for children that are not of their blood. Let us also honor the memory of fathers and dads who no longer walk this earth. Let's honor those who are dutifully fulfilling the role of parents, including those who don't walk a traditional path.
I believe all parents want a better future for their children. Even though I personally do not have children yet, I recognize the importance of ensuring the generations after us have the tools and opportunities to have a better life than those of us who came before.
This campaign is about building a better future for EVERYONE.
